National Association of Social Workers (NASW) — Member since 2020
Sean Weiss
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Sean Weiss provides adult outpatient individual therapy with specialized experience in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Sean most commonly works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and stress connected to work, relationships, and life transitions.
A recurring theme in Sean’s work is the high-functioning adult: someone who appears to be managing well on the outside while privately contending with chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, or difficulty slowing down. His work focuses on helping clients clarify recurring patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, improve executive functioning, and develop practical tools that lead to measurable improvement in daily life.
Prior to his clinical role at Synapse Behavioral Health, Sean served as Site Administrator for two New Jersey-licensed co-occurring outpatient treatment facilities, where he oversaw clinical programming, multidisciplinary team collaboration, regulatory compliance, and coordination with community agencies, including Recovery Court and Probation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped develop and implement a multi-site virtual group treatment model to maintain continuity of care, and regulatory audits conducted under his leadership resulted in no required corrective actions. He has also served as a featured alumni panelist for Rutgers School of Social Work, supporting MSW students in their professional development.
