What are Bipolar Disorders?

Bipolar disorders cause shifts in mood, energy levels, and the ability to function in daily life. People with bipolar disorder experience periods of intense mood changes, from extreme emotional episodes (manic or hypomanic highs) to severe depressive lows.

These aren't typical mood swings that everyone experiences. Bipolar episodes are more intense, last longer, and significantly interfere with work, relationships, and daily activities.
